I work on scientific data analysis and open source software development, mainly using the Python programming language. I’m co-creator of napari, a popular n-dimensional image visualization package, for which I continue to serve in the Steering Council. I am also a core team member for scikit-image, the reference software library for scientific image analysis in Python.

In addition to coding, I really enjoy teaching and writing about these and related topics. I am a Software Carpentry certified instructor and recently got re-certified with The Carpentries. I co-authored Elegant SciPy, published by O’Reilly media, as a way to combine my passions of coding, teaching, and communication.

Away from my desk, I love being outdoors, including hiking, ocean swimming, or bike riding.
