About Image Cooperative
We are a cooperative of imaging scientists dedicated to advancing open standards and open source technology in scientific image data analysis, storage, and dissemination. We believe that collaborating with open tools can dramatically accelerate scientific progress for the benefit of all. We deliver our mission through standards development, software development, training, and education.
What we do

- Open standards. we are work with stakeholders around the world to accelerate development of OME-NGFF, a community-developed next-generation file format for microscopy data. Get in touch if you want to start using OME-NGFF today!
- Open source. Our team members have developed leading open source packages for general image analysis, image visualisation, and more. If you want help using or developing open source software for image acquisition, storage, processing, analysis, or publication, we can help!
- Data management. Are you drowning in image data? Struggling with external hard drives? We have experience working with data pipelines all the way from local, single machine solutions, to institutional HPC clusters, and to commercial cloud providers. We know that out-of-the-box commercial solutions all come with tradeoffs. We can develop a custom solution for your workflow, using open tools that will always be available to you — reducing or removing your reliance on vendors.
